Dear Researchers,
Our international peer-reviewed scientific journal, "KATMAN: Journal of Archaeological Science," which will be published by Anadolu University and will meet its readers with its first issue in December 2025, awaits the contributions of you, our esteemed academics and researchers, for research, review, book critique, excavation report, and special issue articles in the fields specified below. Our journal takes its name from archaeological layers, cultural strata, and its abbreviated form is also KATMAN. Each issue will feature articles that prioritize our cultural assets, and the number of our cultural layers will increase every year. We will be delighted by your contributions to the 1st KATMAN, which will meet you in December.

Our Journal's Aim and Scope:
Katman: Journal of Archaeology; is an open-access journal that aims to increase the visibility in the scientific world of scientific research, findings, and theoretical and methodological innovations in the fields of Prehistory, Protohistory, Classical Archaeology (Greek and Roman), Late Antique Archaeology, Anthropology, Cultural Heritage Studies, and the Documentation of Cultural Assets with Generative Artificial Intelligence.


Works accepted by our journal:
• Archaeological data from prehistoric ages to the late antique period,
• Archaeological excavations, surface surveys, material analyses,
• New theoretical frameworks and methods,
• Analysis of human remains, paleopathology, osteology, and skeletal biology,
• Conservation, restoration, and heritage management,
• May be on the documentation, analysis, and innovative techniques of cultural assets with artificial intelligence models.

KATMAN Journal, to promote the reproducibility of research, encourages the sharing of datasets used in data-driven articles on open-access platforms (preferably Zenodo) with a DOI. A citation is made to the datasets uploaded to the Zenodo community associated with the journal. For accepted articles, the Zenodo DOI number for the datasets is also integrated into the article.
