About the Journal

The Journal of Urban Academy is an international, peer-reviewed (double-blind, with a minimum of three reviewers per manuscript), open-access journal published six times a year—in January, March, May, July, September, and November. Articles may be submitted in either Turkish or English.

Authors are required to use the official initial submission template, available under the “Documents” section on the journal’s website. References should be listed alphabetically by the surname of the first author in a single block format, with a one-line space between entries. Please do not categorize sources by type (e.g., books, articles, theses).

As of now, the journal follows a bi-monthly publication schedule. However, in accordance with Editorial Board Decision No. 113/2025/2/2 (dated January 4, 2025), the journal will adopt a continuous publication model starting January 1, 2026. Details of this change are available in the “Announcements” section of the journal website.
The journal gives priority to manuscripts written in English, especially those offering comparative urban analyses across global cities.

Submission Requirements:

• The similarity index must be below 20%, with no more than 1% similarity per individual reference.
• Only original research articles and review articles are accepted.

The Journal of Urban Academy is officially recognized and accredited for academic advancement and evaluation processes—including associate and full professorships, scientific appointments, research incentives, and graduate degree requirements—both in Turkey and internationally.
