This year marks the 17th anniversary of our publishing journey, launched with the vision of becoming the academy of the city. Initially focused on publishing intellectual works related to urban issues and spaces, the journal took a significant step in 2021 by becoming a peer-reviewed publication. Since then, efforts have been directed toward attaining international visibility and recognition, in line with the goals shared by reputable academic journals worldwide.

Each passing year has brought essential strides toward institutionalization, with the journal's structure becoming increasingly established. Thanks to a consistent adherence to Total Quality Principles and Standards, and a commitment to being reader- and author-friendly, the journal has maintained and expanded its publication circulation—without requiring public calls for papers.

We are advancing in our mission to provide you with a better and higher-quality service, and in our goal of becoming a journal indexed in SCI, SSCI, and AHCI within a few years. We will succeed.

The primary aim is to make implicit knowledge explicit. Recognizing that knowledge confined to the mind adds no real value, the mission of the journal has always been aligned with contributing to the advancement of civilization—both nationally and globally.

In this dual structure, DergiPark serves as the scientific journal platform, while the portal supports other services related to urban culture.
