Bu bağlamda, Donna Haraway’in Staying with the Trouble adlı eserinde sunduğu Chthulucene kavramı, insanın doğayla simbiyotik ilişkiler kurarak çok türlü dayanışma ağlarını güçlendirdiği bir gelecek tahayyülü sunar.

Practise of Staying with Trouble in Donna Haraway's philosophy: Symbiotic Companionship with Wombats

The question of whether another world is possible becomes increasingly urgent in the face of ecological, social, and technological crises. Climate change, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem collapse force a critical reassessment of humanity’s dominant relationship with nature. In this context, Donna Haraway’s concept of Chthulucene, introduced in Staying with the Trouble, envisions a future in which humans cultivate symbiotic relationships with non-human beings through multi-species solidarity. This vision neither embraces a utopian ideal nor submits to dystopian inevitability; rather, it offers an ethical and ecological transformation. This study examines Haraway’s Chthulucene framework through an ecological utopian lens, exploring how wombats and Patricia Piccinini’s artistic vision challenge anthropocentric perspectives and reimagine the possibility of another world. Australian wombats are considered "companion species" that contribute to the survival of other beings, not just their own. Their burrows, which serve as shelters during environmental disasters, are not merely survival structures but manifestations of multi-species solidarity. This view lenges the notion of controlling nature and instead emphasizes the necessity of coexisting with it. Patricia Piccinini’s artistic practice further explores the blurred boundaries between human and non-human entities, reshaping biopolitical and ecological narratives. In this regard, the intersection of art, science, and ecology offers a new framework for contemplating the possibility of alternative worlds.
