Publication Principles

- Journal of Human and Work is a refereed and periodical journal published twice a year, in April and October.
- Manuscripts sent to Journal of Human and Work go through a four-stage evaluation process:
Preliminary Evaluation: During this process, the documents uploaded by the author(s) are formally evaluated by the journal secretariat. If the documents deemed necessary for the process to begin are missing, the manuscript is returned to the author.
Editor's Evaluation: The manuscript's compliance with the journal's rules and ethical principles is determined. The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that are not original, do not comply with the journal's purpose and scope, do not contribute to the literature, or are not prepared in accordance with the article writing rules. As a result of this review, the field editor's opinion is obtained. With the detailed review of the field editor, it is determined whether the submitted article is sufficient to be referred to the referee and the decision to proceed to the evaluation stage is made.
Double-Blind Referee Evaluation: If it is decided that the manuscript will be evaluated by the referee, at least two scientists who are suitable for the subject of the article are determined as referees and the article is sent to the referees through the system. The referees send the results of the scientific review to the editor via the system, together with the "Referee Evaluation Report" and, if necessary, the relevant files. During this process, the identities of the authors and referees are mutually kept confidential. No text or symbol that could reveal the author's identity is included in the article. The referees send the evaluation reports to the journal editorship and the editor forwards the reports to the authors. It is checked that the reports are created in a way that will not reveal the identities of the referees. In order for the articles to be published, a "positive" opinion must be given by at least two referees. If one of the referees gives a "positive" opinion and the other gives a "negative" opinion, the article is sent to a third referee.
Final Evaluation: After at least two positive opinions are given and the manuscript passes through the language editor when deemed necessary, it enters the final evaluation stage. At this stage, the manuscripts are reviewed once more by the Editorial Board and a request for correction can be submitted if necessary. If all edits are approved by the Editorial Board, the article is considered "publishable". The Editorial Board decides in which issue the article will be published. - No referee process guarantee is provided for articles sent to Journal of Human and Work.
- The manuscript sent to Journal of Human and Work should not have been published anywhere before or should not be under review by another journal. The author(s) is resonsible at this point.
- The publication languages of Journal of Human and Work are Turkish and English. Studies written in English are encouraged for international access.
- Journal of Human and Work prioritizes research articles that include in-depth analysis and method (qualitative/quantitative research).
- Journal of Human and Work publishes articles not only from academics but also from independent researchers and practitioners.
- Statements such as research ethics, conflict of interest, financial support and data sharing must be stated in the method section of the study and after the conclusion section, before the references under the title “Ethical Statement”.

- Artificial intelligence and AI-supported tools are not suitable for authorship for manuscripts submitted to Journal of Human and Work. Authors using such tools should transparently explain their role in the study and assume full responsibility for the content.
Artificial intelligence tools (e.g. ChatGPT) cannot be listed as authors because authorship requires accountability and intellectual contribution, which AI cannot provide.
Authors should disclose the use of AI in their articles (e.g. in the Methods or Acknowledgements section).
Authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality and integrity of the content generated by AI.
- It is not possible for author(s) to submit a new application while the evaluation process of their manuscripts submitted to Journal of Human and Work is ongoing. This rule is to support the intensity of the process and fair evaluation.
- Journal of Human and Work limits re-publication by the same author within short periods of time in order to ensure diversity in academic representation and to support the presentation of publication opportunities to a wider range of authors. This practice allows the journal to reflect academic contributions from different institutions and researchers in a balanced manner, while also aiming to increase the diversity and depth of the scientific content. For this reason, if the accepted work of the author(s) is published in the October 2025 issue, for example, another work submitted by the same author(s) to Journal of Human and Work is found suitable for publication after the process is completed, it can be published in the April 2027 issue at the earliest.
- Journal of Human and Work adopts a publication policy that adopts the principle of open, transparent and accessible information. All works published in the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
- Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license allows users to share, copy, reproduce and produce derivative works of manuscripts, provided that they cite them.
